President's Message
In my Presidency of JCI UK, I wanted each member to be Inspired,
Challenged (in the best possible way!) and Rewarded during their membership
of JCI.
Whilst numerous events take place at local, regional, National and
international level of JCI delivering all of these things, one of these
three words were adopted by each events director of our National events in
2008. The first National event of the year was Inspiration Day,
covering off the Inspired element; National Conference in September was
Challenging with the various speakers and training sessions; and National
Awards at the end of this month will be Rewarding.
At National Awards from 28th to 30th November, we will come together to
celebrate the achievements of individual members and chambers alike.
It is about sharing the learning. National Awards is a showcase for
all that is good about JCI and non-members are welcome to come and see what
it is that we do. The theme this year is Be Bolder, Be Better, Be
Yourself. It is at this event that I will hand over my chain of office
and my Deputy, Charlotte Best will be sworn in as the 2009 National
President of JCI UK.
On the Friday evening, you will experience social networking with a
difference; on the Saturday, National Council or training sessions, our Key
Note Speaker Sir Howard Bernstein the Chief Executive of Manchester City
Council, National finals of the Public Speaking and Debating competitions
and the Glamour & Glitz National Awards Ceremony and Dinner; with time to
relax on the Sunday with the Farewell Breakfast and the opportunity to see
the sights in Manchester. The booking form can be found on this JCI UK
homepage.
I hope that 2008 has been as Inspiring, Challenging (in a good way!) and
Rewarding for you as it has been for me.
I look forward to seeing you all at National Awards in Manchester.
Kind regards
Sarah-Jane Mills
National President
